Is Gayoom Really Committed To Protecting Our Environment?

At a time when people already question Gayyoom’s sincerity towards bringing democracy to Maldives, it is becoming clear day by day, that he does not have any sincerity in anything that he preaches.

Gayyoom is known internationally as the one who is concerned about the environment and global warming. However, his concerns are only limited to talking and all his actions are proving to be the opposite of what he preaches.

Maldives celebrates 35 years of idyllic island escapes

Sabrina Chang decided this year to treat herself to a fancy vacation, opting to stay in a thatched bungalow over a lagoon in the Maldives where a swim with exotic fish is as common as taking a stroll.

Immigrant Workers Could Be Withdrawn: Bangladesh High Commission

Bangladesh’s High Commissioner has told Minivan News he will consider pulling his country’s 25,000 expatriate workers out of the Maldives, if the governnment cannot guarantee their security.

The warning comes after police failure to prevent a wave of attacks on the dormitory of Bangladeshis working for the Malé Municipality.
